The primary objectives of the Electrical and Computer Engineering curriculum are to prepare our graduates to practice engineering with skills consistent with the requirements of today’s engineering environment. The program, accredited by the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), meets the requirements for both electrical engineering as well as computer engineering.
Students enrolled in the program will take courses in engineering science and engineering design. Lecture classes are supplemented with laboratory work in our up-to-date facilities. The laboratory provides practical experience and enables the student to verify the principles and theory as presented in the classroom. Our program responds to the growing need for engineers who have computer hardware and software skills and gives our graduates a competitive advantage in the job market. Demand for the graduates of this program are at an all-time high with many finding employment in various industries as well as the service sector and government agencies.
Graduates of this unique program can expect to find employment in the design, development production, testing and sales of electrical/computer systems in industries as diverse as the power utilities, telecommunications companies, and federal agencies. Our faculty, with Ph.D.’s in electrical and computer-related areas coupled with industrial and research experience, bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in design, development, and implementation to the classrooms.
